Map circulation and use

Show steps, ladders, gates, seating, outdoor showers and equipment access on the plan. Keep regular walking routes clear of furniture and ensure service areas remain reachable.

Think about how the area is used by adults and children, and ask your designer or installer to assess safety and access requirements for the specific pool.

Coordinate coping with paving

Select coping and surrounding pavers together. Compare edge profiles, colours, finishes and sizes so the transition around straight and curved sections is consistent.

Check corners, steps and skimmer details. Pool dimensions and component availability should be verified before quantities are finalised.

Review drainage and care

Ask the installer to explain drainage falls and how water will move away from the pool and buildings. Discuss cleaning, saltwater exposure and any sealer separately.
