Plan the wall’s purpose
Decide whether the wall is a garden edge, planter, freestanding feature or retaining structure. These uses can have different design and support requirements, especially where soil or loads are involved.
A qualified contractor should assess retaining conditions, drainage and any engineering needs. A product description alone is not a retaining-wall design.
Coordinate blocks and caps
Customstone SA lists mortared walling blocks and bullnose capping options that can complement paving. Confirm the cap width, overhang and corner treatment against the actual wall dimensions.
Choose colours and finishes alongside the adjacent pavers. A sample layout helps show whether the cap should blend in or act as a contrasting edge.
Include drainage and maintenance
Discuss how water will move behind and around the wall, and how the finished area will be maintained. Poorly planned water movement can affect the wall and the adjoining paving.
Compare the [walling and coping range](/our-products/) and talk through the design with an installer.
